What are you doing New Year's Eve? Restaurants across the city are planning spectacular soirees that deliver glamour with a twist of idiosyncratic Portland style, from Han Oak's "baller gimbap" karaoke party to Gabbiano's Big Night homage to Gado Gado's rice table service. Arden Wine Bar & Kitchen List
This lovely natural wine oasis in the Pearl District has you covered with a special four-course dinner that includes luxe options like steak with blue cheese fondue and uni spaghetti. Optional supplements and wine pairings are also available.
Pearl District

Gabbiano's List
In the 1996 classic Big Night, two immigrant brothers, the grouchy but brilliant chef Primo (Tony Shalhoub) and the pragmatic restaurant manager Secondo (Stanley Tucci), throw an unforgettably decadent feast in a last-ditch attempt to keep their struggling Italian restaurant afloat. The Italian American red sauce joint Gabbiano's will attempt to recreate this grand cinematic meal with a sprawling six-course family-style dinner on New Year's Eve that includes the film's most iconic dish, timpano (a baked pasta stuffed with meatballs, sausages, egg, rigatoni, and cheeses), plus cioppino, bubbles upon arrival, optional wine pairings, late-night snacks, and a champagne toast at midnight.
Concordia

Gado Gado List
The Indonesian phenom Gado Gado will serve an extra-festive version of their family-style rijsttafel (rice table) service for New Year's Eve. Choose between an omnivorous version with aromatic dishes like lobster siu mai, duck curry, and short rib rendang, or opt for a plant-based version with delicata curry with crispy tofu, charcoal-grilled seitan satay skewers, vegan balado, and more. Expect a steady flow of champagne and cocktail specials to complement the meal.
Hollywood District

G-Love List
The reverse steakhouse's festive à la carte menu will include fan favorites like crusty avocado alongside luxe specials like lamb tartare with parmesan rind chicharrones, brown butter butternut squash agnolotti, and rum caramel banana upside-down cake. Ring in the new year in opulent style with a frothy champagne tower at midnight.
Nob Hill

Han Oak List
Peter Cho and Sun Young Park's celebrated Korean restaurant is throwing a rowdy "baller gimbap" bash complete with sizzling New York prime strip, cured pork belly, market-fresh produce, seasonal banchan, and plenty of seafood, along with a selection of luxurious supplements such as caviar and A5 wagyu beef. The final seating also includes entry into a late-night karaoke party, where you can belt your favorite pop ballads to your heart's content.
Kerns

Heavenly Creatures List
This otherworldly wine bar will host a glitzy walk-in soirée in their lobby with beignets, caviar, and bountiful bubbly, in addition to their full regular menu (don't sleep on the fluffy whipped camembert, aerated à la Cheez Whiz and served with potato chips—it was just named one of Portland's iconic dishes by Eater Portland). DJs Tyler Damato and Matty Colston will provide additional ambience.
Sullivan's Gulch

Lucky Horseshoe Lounge List
Stuff yourself silly with Italian American specials like fried polenta with shrimp, snacky pancetta-wrapped dates, and bright, tangy citrus and radicchio salad at this cozy lounge. Sparkling cocktails will also be available, along with the regular menu.
Hosford-Abernethy

Vivienne List
The culinary bookstore has freshly inked a lease on a new space on NE Alberta, so this will be its last New Year's Eve party in the Hollywood location. They're going out with a bang with a shindig that includes vino from Eno Wine, oysters, tinned fish, cheese, crudités, fruits, sweets, and a champagne toast. There's an earlier Eastern time celebration for those attached to an early bedtime and a later Pacific time one for night owls.
